Mystical Evenings at Neugal Café: My Travel Notes

Jaspall Singh - 27 July 2025

Neugal Cafe

Located at a distance of 2 km from Palampur, a town famous as the Tea Capital of North India, there is a hidden wonder that I am discussing in my travel story, ‘Neugal Café‘. Beautiful and amazing views surrounded this spot. Every time I visited Neugal Café in Palampur, I felt a sense of calmness and happiness while spending time. Evenings at Neugal Café are especially memorable, as riding my memory of the evenings that we have spent here, I cannot help but recall the splendid views that enveloped us, the soft-spoken words of the mountains, and the gentle song of the flowing water. The charm of Neugal Cafe in Palampur is truly unmatched.

The Allure of Palampur

Palampur is one of my favourite places for weekend trips. It’s a wonderful hilly town with fantastic weather year-round. Beautiful green pine forests offer breathtaking views of the Dhouladhar ranges. It indeed is the best option for any nature lover seeking calmness. The tea plantations set up here in 1849 are not only one of the reasons to identify Palampur but also beautifully paint the place in green colouring, which enchants every traveler. The name Palum, meaning “abundant water,” perfectly captures the area’s refreshing and gentle atmosphere, enhanced by the nearby flowing streams. This description applies to Neugal Cafe as well, especially during the evenings at Neugal Café.

Evening at Neugal Café

As the sky blazed with sunset colors of orange and pink, Rajni and I walked towards Neugal Café. As we walk in, the aroma of fresh tea mixes with the mountain air and we are lifted. We find a nice spot near the stream, get comfortable, and are surrounded by greenery that creates a little bubble from the outside world. The leaves rustle softly, and it’s like a sweet symphony, we ask ourselves to sit back and enjoy the moment. Evenings at Neugal Café are truly magical. It’s here by the water that we share our thoughts and laughter, and let the worries of life float away like the clouds above the mountains.

Neugal Cafe Palampur
Neugal Cafe, Palampur

Neugal Cafe in Palampur is a great hangout spot, and if you’re not in the mood for tea, they have plenty of other options available! Enjoying the delicious treats during evenings at Neugal Café is an unparalleled experience. Neugal Cafe is just 2 kilometers from the main market of Palampur and the walk is gorgeous! While we drove, I highly recommend walking to the cafe to enjoy a stroll through tea gardens and past charming homes.

Moments of Togetherness

More than anything, I value the chance to converse with Rajni and enjoy her company during these evenings. Each visit brings stories from our lives, dreams yet to be fulfilled, and laughter that echoes through the hills. We sit for hours and sometimes pause to let the beauty around us sink in – the sunset casting its golden glow on the tea gardens, the whispering winds carrying the pine scent and the sound of water flowing over rocks, a perfect setting for our memories.

The evenings we spend at Neugal Café are much more than a simple inclusion in our travel plans; they are vital and memorable parts of our trips that we greatly value. The cafe, with its rustic charm and captivating views, has transformed into our sanctuary, a place where the hustle and bustle of life melt away, allowing time to stand still. The evenings I spend at the Neugal Café always bring back cherished memories of simple pleasures and quiet moments of joy that I hold there.

As I think of all the evenings we have at Neugal Café, I realize it’s not just the physical beauty of Palampur that attracts me, but the connections and moments made in nature’s lap. This Café, with its warm ambiance, is a reminder of the simple joys of life. The restaurant also has an external seating area. If you want to enjoy your food sitting on the lap of nature, looking at birds, snow-covered peaks and cedar forests, and listening to Gurgling water, then the Neugal Cafe is the perfect place to be in the cafe. A water stream is passing and you can sit there and enjoy the water by putting your feet in the water. Rajni always did this activity.

I wish to go there again and again.

Barot, Himachal: An Escape to Nature, Adventure, and Peace

Jaspall Singh - 20 July 2025

Barot Valley

Updated on July 23rd, 2025

Travellingit leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller. The beauty of Barot Valley makes you speechless, and you return with a lot to tell. We planned a trip to a hidden gem of Himachal, Barot Valley, a beautiful place surrounded by lush green forest, rolling hills, and the gentle flow of the Uhl river. Nestled in a scenic landscape, Barot Valley offers you a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Starting our journey from Jalandhar, we chose the way to Barot Valley via Kangra and Palampur.

A Long Weekend Plan: From Palampur to Barot Valley.

As I earlier said, we planned a long weekend getaway to Barot Valley, aiming to immerse ourselves in its untouched beauty. We started our journey on a bright second week of June. Our first stop was Palampur, a charming town known for its lush tea gardens and romantic vistas. We stayed there for a night, soaking in the cool mountain air and exploring local sights. Palampur is the place we have visited and explored many times. The next day, we set off for Barot Valley, travelling via Baijnath & Mandi. Known for its ancient temples and spiritual ambience, Baijnath added a cultural touch to our journey. However, the roads were congested with traffic, turning our drive into a time-consuming but scenic adventure. Nonetheless, the anticipation of reaching Barot Valley kept us enthusiastic through the long hours.

Arrival: Welcome to Nature’s Paradise

After a full day of travel, we finally arrived in Barot Valley. The moment we stepped into this tranquil valley, a wave of relaxation washed over us. The scenery was nothing short of breathtaking—verdant hills, the gentle flow of the UHL River, and a peaceful, almost untouched environment. It felt like arriving at a hidden treasure, a perfect escape from city chaos.

As it was a season’s day and a weekend as well, finding accommodation was not an easy task. It took us a long time to find accommodation. After settling and taking some rest, we planned to go down to the river site to sit and enjoy the river’s flowing water. So it’s recommended to pre-book accommodation if you’re travelling on season’s days in Barot Valley.

There are a lot of homestay accommodations in and around Barot village. Camps are also available there. You may book them online as well.

Stay at ‘The Break Time’ Riverside Camping Site

The next morning, we booked our stay at ‘The Break Time’ camping site, perfectly situated by the riverside of Barot Valley. After booking our stay, we preferred to walk through the village. There are so many eateries where you may enjoy food, Maggie and especially freshwater trout fish, which is available everywhere in Barot Valley. It was drizzling, and we ordered pakora and tea near a natural water fountain. After spending time, we came to our camp in the evening. The campsite offers a unique blend of comfort and adventure, with tents pitched just steps away from the calming river waters. Waking up to the sound of flowing water, surrounded by pristine nature, was an experience.

The camping site was well-equipped with amenities, but the real magic was in the location. The river flowed gently beside our tents, inviting us to explore further. We enjoyed it a lot and captured many moments. Sitting with our feet dipped in the cold and clear water, we felt a profound sense of peace. The weather was just perfect—cool, crisp, and refreshing, a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

The UHL River’s tranquillity provided the perfect setting for reflection and relaxation. It’s moments like these that remind us of the simple joys of life in Barot Valley.

A Cozy Night: Cooking, Conversations, and a Bonfire

As darkness descended, we decided to make the most of our camping experience. We cooked Maggi noodles, a simple yet satisfying meal, while sharing stories and enjoying the cool mountain air. To add to the evening’s delight, ‘The Break Time’ camping site arranged a warm bonfire. Sitting around the crackling fire, sipping our drinks, and sharing laughter under a star-studded sky was truly magical.

Cherished Memories in Nature’s Embrace

Our short stay in Barot Valley was a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and connection with nature. The scenic beauty, peaceful environment, and warm hospitality made it a trip to remember. Whether it was the calming river, the lush hills, or the friendly camping experience, every moment was priceless.

Barot Valley is a hidden gem that promises serenity, scenic splendour, and an escape from the chaos of everyday life. As travel enthusiasts say, “The best journeys answer questions you didn’t think to ask.” And in Barot Valley, every moment answered the call for peace and adventure.

Malaysia is Emerging as Study Destination for Indian Students

Jaspall Singh - 21 January 2025

Malaysia Students

Updated on January 24th, 2025

Malaysia has rapidly gained recognition as a prime study-abroad destination for international students, particularly from India. With its top-ranked universities, affordable tuition fees, and a relatively low cost of living, Malaysia is becoming the go-to choice for many aspiring students. This article explores the key factors that make Malaysia an attractive option for Indian students planning to have higher education abroad.

Top Universities and Affordable Education

Malaysia is home to eight universities ranked among the top 500 in the 2025 QS World University Rankings. These institutions provide high-quality education across various disciplines, making them appealing to students worldwide.

One of the most significant advantages of studying in Malaysia is the affordability of tuition fees. On average, an undergraduate degree costs around US$6,000 annually, according to an ICEF Monitor report. This is substantially lower than tuition fees in Western countries, making it a financially viable option for many Indian families.

Low Cost of Living

In addition to affordable tuition, Malaysia offers a cost of living significantly lower than other leading study-abroad destinations. Living expenses in Malaysia are estimated to be two-thirds less expensive than in the United States and half as expensive as in Canada and Ireland. This affordability extends to accommodation, food, transportation, and leisure activities, allowing students to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle without breaking the bank.

Growing Interest Among Indian Students

In recent years, Malaysia has seen a surge in applications from Indian students. In 2023, India emerged as one of Malaysia’s key source markets, ranking fifth among the top contributors to the international student population. Indian students submitted 1,900 applications, marking an impressive 18% increase compared to 2022. This trend highlights the growing appeal of Malaysia as a study-abroad destination for Indian students seeking quality education at a reasonable cost. According to recent data, there are approximately 4,030 Indian students currently studying in Malaysia in 2024, highlighting a growing interest in Malaysia as a study destination for Indian students.

Post-Study Work Opportunities: The Graduate Pass

One of the standout features of studying in Malaysia is the Graduate Pass program, which allows international students to gain work experience in the country after graduation. The Malaysian government has adopted a selective approach to post-study work policies, offering the Graduate Pass to students from 23 countries, including major nations like Australia, the US, the UK, Germany, and Japan.

In 2024, Indian and Chinese students were also granted access to the Graduate Pass under specific conditions. Initially set to expire at the end of 2024, this policy has now been extended until the end of 2026, further enhancing Malaysia’s attractiveness as a study destination.

The Graduate Pass has garnered significant interest, particularly from target markets. According to Times Higher Education, Malaysia’s share of global page views on the search platform StudyPortals has risen by about 25% this year, with notable increases from the US, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. The Graduate Pass opportunity for Chinese students has also contributed to a sharp rise in applications from China in the past year.

Diverse Academic Programs and Growth in Postgraduate Studies

International students in Malaysia primarily pursue undergraduate degrees, but there has been a marked increase in interest at the master’s and postgraduate levels since 2019. By adopting innovative strategies, Malaysian institutions are overcoming traditional obstacles and redistributing academic influence. This shift has profound implications for global talent flows, research funding, and the distribution of academic influence for years to come.

Malaysia is undoubtedly becoming an attractive study-abroad destination for Indian students. With its top-ranked universities, affordable tuition fees, low cost of living, and promising post-study work opportunities, it offers a comprehensive package for those seeking quality education abroad. As the trend continues to grow, more Indian students are likely to consider Malaysia as their preferred choice for higher education, paving the way for a brighter future.

Exploring the Berlin: A City of Transformation

Jaspall Singh - 23 December 2024

Berlin

Updated on February 1st, 2025

My business trips to Berlin for ICEF workshops (2022 & 2024) allowed me to experience this vibrant city’s transformative history, even with a focus on work. Berlin’s transformation from a conflict-ridden city to one embracing openness and diversity profoundly impacted me. Each corner of the city tells a story, and the deeper I explored, the more alive Berlin became.

Rising from the Ashes: Berlin’s Resilience

One of the most remarkable aspects of Berlin is its ability to rise from adversity. Despite its tumultuous past, the city is a testament to the strength of its people. It thrives on a spirit of acceptance, diversity, and the determination to enjoy life. From its scars of war to its experiences with division, Berlin teaches us that renewal is possible.

Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church

The Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, located in Berlin, stands as a poignant symbol of the destruction wrought by World War II and the resilience of the German spirit. Originally completed in 1895, the church was heavily damaged during Allied bombing in 1943, leaving the tower known as the “hollow tooth” as a striking reminder of the war’s devastation. Rather than being completely rebuilt, the ruins were preserved to honour both the tragic history of the conflict and the lives lost. The site now comprises the remains of the original church and a modern memorial church adjacent to it, which features a striking blue glass façade.

Old Church Berlin
Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church

Near the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church (Kaiser-Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche) in Charlottenburg, you can find a weekly market that features a variety of food and seasonal specialities. This market is part of the vibrant food scene in Berlin and is well worth a visit. We had Currywurst (Non-Veg), A Berlin street food staple, it consists of a grilled sausage topped with a curry-flavoured ketchup.

The New Church, a Landmark

The New Church is a prominent landmark in the heart of the city. The church, with its elegant design and rich history, complements the surrounding beauty of the Gendarmenmarkt, which is often bustling with locals and tourists alike. Visitors to this picturesque area can appreciate both the architectural splendour of both churches and the vibrant atmosphere that characterizes one of Berlin’s most celebrated public spaces.

Brandenburg Gate: A Symbol of Peace and Unity

On our final day in Berlin, we explored some of the city’s most iconic historical monuments. Our first stop was the Brandenburg Gate, the quintessential landmark of Berlin. This neoclassical monument, originally built to symbolise peace, has witnessed the city’s most significant events. It stood stoic during the Cold War, dividing East and West Berlin, and became a beacon of hope and unity after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.

Tourists and Rajni Singh at Brandenburg Gate.

Visiting early in the day allowed us to appreciate its grandeur without the hustle of sizeable crowds. The light show at night adds another layer of magic, making it a must-see for every visitor.

Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe: A Place of Remembrance

Just a short walk from the Brandenburg Gate lies the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. Comprising 2,711 concrete slabs arranged in a grid pattern, this monument invites reflection on the Holocaust. The underground “Place of Information” provides poignant insights into the lives of approximately three million Jewish victims.

The atmosphere here is solemn and respectful, serving as a crucial reminder of our history. It’s a place for contemplation, and I advise visitors to approach it with the reverence it deserves—avoid excessive photographs and refrain from sitting on the memorial blocks.

A Retreat in Tiergarten: Nature Amidst the City

After the solemnity of the memorial, we strolled to Tiergarten Park, a serene oasis in the heart of Berlin. With its lush greenery and sprawling gardens, it’s the perfect spot for a peaceful lunch picnic or just to unwind.

Covering 500 acres, the park is rich with wildlife and also features the Berlin Zoo, which we didn’t have time to visit on this trip, but is worth exploring. At the centre of Tiergarten stands the Victory Column, a monumental tribute to Germany’s military victories. Climbing to the top rewards you with stunning panoramic views of the city!

Berlin: A City of Stories

Berlin is much more than a city; it’s a living narrative of resilience, history, and culture. From its bustling streets and rich history to its acceptance and diversity, Berlin invites everyone to share in its ongoing story. Each visit reveals new layers, ensuring that there’s always something more to discover. I can’t wait to return and delve even deeper into the experiences that make Berlin such a dynamic and captivating destination!

Rupayan Homestay in Palampur: Making Memories That Last

Jaspall Singh - 28 October 2024

Rupayan Rupayan Homestay

Updated on August 1st, 2025

Traveling–it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.’ This quote by Ibn Battuta perfectly captures my journey to Palampur, a hidden gem nestled in the lap of the Himalayas. When I decided to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, I envisioned a destination that would allow me to connect with nature, indulge in local culture, and create lasting memories. After some research, I settled on Rupayan Homestay, a charming retreat that promised comfort and a taste of Himachali hospitality. Little did I know, my experience at Rupayan HomeStay would be one of the highlights of my travels.

Arriving at Rupayan Homestay

Nestled in the heart of Palampur, Rupayan Homestay welcomed me with open arms. The moment I stepped inside, the inviting ambience struck me. The hosts, passionate about sharing their love for the region, immediately made me feel at home. The room I stayed in was cosy and offered breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar mountains, which were especially enchanting at sunrise.

Rupayan Homestay

The Café Experience

One of the standout features of Rupayan Homestay is its delightful café. Each morning, I eagerly anticipated enjoying a hearty breakfast made from locally sourced ingredients. The café offers a range of traditional Himachali dishes and, of course, the finest teas from the nearby tea gardens. Sitting on the terrace with a cup of freshly brewed tea, I savoured the peaceful atmosphere while soaking in the majestic views at Rupayan HomeStay.

Exploring the Local Attractions

During my stay at Rupayan HomeStay, I made it a point to explore the nearby attractions. A short drive took me to the Baijnath Temple, an ancient marvel dedicated to Lord Shiva. The intricate carvings and serene surroundings provided a spiritual experience that I cherished. I also took time to wander through the lush tea gardens, where I learned about the tea-making process. The guides were knowledgeable and passionate, sharing fascinating stories about the region’s tea heritage.

Another highlight was my visit to Chamunda Devi Temple, set against the backdrop of the stunning Dhauladhar range. The temple is not only a significant pilgrimage site but also offers panoramic views of the valley. The journey there was a spiritual and scenic delight, allowing me to connect with both the culture and nature of Himachal Pradesh.

The Essence of Hospitality

What made my stay at Rupayan Homestay truly special was the warmth of the hosts. They shared stories about the region, introduced me to local customs, and even invited me to join in a traditional Himachali meal. This personal touch made my experience unique and memorable.

A Trip to Remember

As I packed my bags to leave Palampur, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for the experiences I had. Rupayan Homestay not only provided me with comfortable accommodations but also allowed me to immerse myself in the local culture. The combination of breathtaking landscapes, delicious food, and warm hospitality made my trip unforgettable.

If you’re ever in search of a serene escape in Himachal Pradesh, I wholeheartedly recommend Rupayan Homestay. It’s more than just a place to stay; it’s a gateway to discovering the beauty and richness of Palampur. I left with not just memories but also a longing to return to Rupayan HomeStay and its welcoming embrace. As Mark Twain said, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” My journey in Palampur was a testament to this, broadening my horizons and deepening my appreciation for the world around me.

UK Study Visa Financial Requirements for International in 2025

Jaspall Singh - 24 October 2024

UK Study Visa Update

Indian students who are looking for a top-notch education, international exposure and a nice cultural experience have long cherished the UK. However, the British government plans to increase the minimum maintenance funds that candidates for student visas must exhibit starting in January 2025. Starting January 2, 2025, international students applying for UK visas will face higher financial requirements. This change is part of the UK government’s response to inflation and rising living costs. This change, announced on September 10, 2024, represents the UK’s commitment to keep up with inflation and rising living costs, but it could weaken students’ financial planning – particularly those from India, one of the largest student groups in the UK. Having enough money in their bank account has always been a crucial necessity for students hoping to study in the UK to get a student visa.

Money serves the purpose of supporting the student’s living expenses while they are enrolled in the course. Currently, before applying for a visa, applicants must show they have a certain amount available for 28 days. The amount assigned depends on whether the student will be studying in London or somewhere else in the city.

New Financial Requirements

From 2025, students must demonstrate they have sufficient savings to cover living expenses for each month of their course, for up to nine months. The financial requirements depend on the location of the study.

In London: Students must show they have GBP 1,483 per month.
Outside London: Students need to prove they have GBP 1,136 per month.

This is an increase from previous amounts of GBP 1,334 for London and GBP 1,023 for other parts of the UK Total Savings Required

Students planning to study in London for nine months or more now need to show GBP 13,348 in savings (calculated as GBP 1,483 per month for nine months). This adjustment is intended to reflect the UK’s current cost of living.

The Way Forward

Although the rise in maintenance fees can seem like one more obstacle, given the rising cost of living in the UK, it is a necessary adjustment. The majority of Indian students will not view the increased financial needs as an inaccessible obstacle, but rather as a representation of the true cost of studying abroad. The majority of Indian applicants should be able to comply with the new regulations with adequate preparation and financial management.

With its top-notch education and varied post-study options, the UK remains a popular choice for Indian students, thus this financial adjustment will probably be accepted as part of the overall cost of getting a degree in one of the world’s most well-known educational hotspots.

Bringing Dependents

Under the new system, only postgraduate students and those enrolled in government-sponsored courses will be allowed to bring dependents, such as a spouse or children. Undergraduate students will generally not have the option to bring dependents.

This policy change marks a significant shift in the visa application process for international students, highlighting the growing financial burden of studying in the UK.

Discover the Enchanting Beauty of Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj

Jaspall Singh - 11 September 2024

Dharamkot

As I recently embarked on a journey to Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj, the sheer magnificence of these destinations astounded me. The allure of the mountains, a gift from nature, never ceases to amaze me. It doesn’t matter how many times I visit, the mountains always cast a spell, rendering each encounter unique and captivating. My heart finds solace and fascination in the mountains, particularly in Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj.

Dharamshala: Where dreams meet reality

Named after the Hindi term for “house of prosperity,” Dharamshala stands as a year-round gem in Himachal Pradesh. While cricket enthusiasts find their haven here, the city’s charm extends to both local and global travellers. Opting for a road trip from my hometown of Jalandhar, we chose the path via Pathankot. August’s rain-drenched roads posed a challenge, but our return journey via Kangra and Hoshiarpur revealed a smoother passage. Dharamshala enjoys excellent connectivity to major cities across India, making it easily accessible for travellers. Buses, with both AC and non-AC options, serve as the primary mode of transportation. For us, a self-driven adventure from Jalandhar provided an intimate connection with the landscape and surroundings of Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj.

McLeod Ganj: A Glimpse into Mini-Tibet

Mere 7 kilometres from Dharamshala lies the captivating town of McLeod Ganj, affectionately dubbed mini-Tibet. Its historical ties to Tibetan culture, shaped during the British era, create a unique atmosphere. An exciting development is the proposed ropeway connecting Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj, promising an even more enchanting journey. Arriving amidst cloudy skies added an extra layer of magic to our drive, making the experience simultaneously challenging and mesmerizing. Exploring both Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj with such immersive atmospheric effects was truly memorable.

Revealing Hidden Gems: Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj Unveiled

McLeod Ganj Main Square: A Vibrant Hub

As we ventured from Dharamshala, the McLeod Ganj main square beckoned with its vibrant energy. This bustling hub is a shopper’s paradise, boasting an array of shops and markets. Immerse yourself in Buddhist culture by browsing clothes and trinkets that celebrate its essence. While in Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj, this square undoubtedly stood out as a cultural hotspot.

A Spiritual Haven: The Buddhist Temple

Just steps from the main square live the renowned Buddhist temple of McLeod Ganj. Here, we immersed ourselves in Buddhist practices and teachings. Taking a moment to sit and absorb the panoramic views from this tranquil sanctuary proved deeply rewarding, offering a spiritual respite during our adventures in Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj.

Bhagsunag Waterfall: Majestic Cascade of Nature

A leisurely half-kilometre stroll from the main square led us to the awe-inspiring Bhagsunag waterfall. The Bhagsu Waterfall is a popular tourist attraction near McLeod Ganj in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, India. It’s a scenic waterfall that’s reached by a short hike from the Bhagsunag Temple. The waterfall is especially captivating during the monsoon season, when the water flow is at its peak. Many visitors come here to enjoy the natural beauty, take a refreshing dip in the pool beneath the waterfall, and relax in the serene surroundings. It’s a must-visit spot for nature enthusiasts and those looking to experience the beauty of the Himalayan region. Because of the rainy season, the waterfall was in full swing making the view really awesome. We enjoyed it and spent some time in the beautiful nature, cherishing the iconic features of Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj.

Embracing Wisdom: Dalai Lama Temple

The teachings of the esteemed Dalai Lama have woven a tapestry of Tibetan culture that envelopes McLeod Ganj. We visited this place during our last trip and spent some time there. It’s a very peaceful place to sit, meditate, and connect to nature. This experience offered insight, enlightenment, and a sense of connection. Pilgrims walk around the pedestal to pay homage and rotate the prayer wheel. I believe that by rotating the wheel; the merit is multiplied and the devotees are blessed enormously. The large hall adjacent to it accommodates thousands of people to meditate and spends a few moments of quiet. Such spiritual immersions truly enhance the experience of Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj.

Dal Lake: Serenity in Every Ripple

Despite being around 3 kilometers from McLeod Ganj, Dal Lake offered a serene retreat. The mist-shrouded waters, surrounded by Deodar trees, painted a picturesque scene. The lake, veiled in fog during the winter, became a sight of unparalleled beauty. This time in August, clouds fully covered it, but at short intervals, clouds get cleared, making Lake an awesome view. Rajni, my companion, shot a few video clips for her vlogs. The natural beauty of Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj shines through spots like Dal Lake.

St. John’s Wilderness Church: A Fog-Kissed Marvel

The St. John’s Wilderness Church, adorned in fog and soft light, exuded an aura of mystique. Its historical architecture, wrapped in a surreal ambiance, created memories that will forever be etched in my heart. St. John in the Wilderness Church is a historic Anglican church in McLeod Ganj, a suburb of Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh, India. We know this church for its distinctive neo-Gothic architecture and serene surroundings. It was built in 1852 and is named “In the Wilderness” because of its location in a dense forest area. The church holds significance both architecturally and historically, attracting visitors interested in its unique charm and the tranquility it offers. We spent time there and clicked a few photographs. This spot showcases how Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj excel in offering historic marvels wrapped in natural beauty.

Beyond the Ordinary: Unearth Hidden Jewels

Dharamshala extends its allure with the war memorial, tea gardens, Kunal Pathri Temple, and Kangra Art Museum. Each site, a treasure trove of experiences, beckons the curious traveler to uncover their stories. As our journey concluded, we carried back a treasure trove of memories – misty mountains, cascading waterfalls, and spiritual revelations. Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj, with their harmonious blend of nature’s grandeur and cultural richness, have etched themselves as an unforgettable chapter in my travel diary. Will surely plan to go again to this beautiful destination.

Sailing Through Dubai Marina Cruise Experience

Jaspall Singh - 20 September 2023

Dubai Cruise

Dubai, the city of opulence and grandeur, is not only famous for its towering skyscrapers and luxurious shopping malls but also for its breathtaking waterways. One of the most captivating experiences that Dubai offers is a journey aboard a traditional Dubai Marina cruise. I had the privilege of embarking on this enchanting adventure during my educational trip to Dubai, and it was truly a highlight of the visit.

Setting Sail in Dubai: A Cruise Experience

Dubai’s cruises are a testament to the city’s ability to seamlessly blend tradition with modernity. These beautifully crafted wooden vessels have been part of the region’s maritime heritage for centuries. Stepping aboard one of these mini ships is like stepping back in time while enjoying the backdrop of a futuristic cityscape.

A Rainy Day Adds to the Magic

One thing that made my Cruise experience in Dubai even more special was the unexpected rain. Dubai’s desert climate rarely sees rain, and I consider myself fortunate to have witnessed this rarity. We reached the spot, and the rain started. The raindrops falling gently on the deck added a touch of more magical romance to the evening.

The Spectacular Skyline

As the dhow glided along the Arabian waters, the Dubai skyline came into view. The contrast between the traditional dhow and the modern skyscrapers in the background was a sight to behold. The city’s top landmarks, including the iconic Burj Khalifa and the magnificent Palm Jumeirah, looked even more awe-inspiring from the water. It was a wonderful skyline all around with sky-touching buildings.

Entertainment and Gastronomy

The Dubai Marina Cruise was not just about scenic beauty; it was also a feast for the senses. The cruise offered a delightful blend of entertainment, music, dance, and culinary delights. All team members enjoyed clicking pics and making videos. The onboard entertainment showcased the rich culture of the region, with traditional music and dance performances that transported us to another world.

The sumptuous dinner served on the dhow was a gastronomic delight. From traditional Middle Eastern dishes to international cuisine, there was something to tantalize every palate. And of course, the evening wouldn’t be complete without sipping on refreshing drinks while enjoying the cool breeze off the Arabian Gulf.

A Memorable Dubai Experience

My journey on the Dubai Marina Cruise was a captivating blend of tradition, luxury, and modernity. It was a testament to Dubai’s ability to surprise and enchant its visitors with unique experiences. Whether it’s your first time in Dubai or a return visit, a dhow cruise is an experience that should not be missed. It’s a voyage that will leave you with lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for this incredible city that seamlessly marries the past and the future. Dubai, with its Marine Cruise and so much more, truly stands as a beacon of wonder in the heart of the Middle East.

The Historical Legacy and Cultural Significance of Gurdwara Nada Sahib

Jaspall Singh - 11 September 2023

Nada Sahib

Gurdwara Nada Sahib, in the serene town of Panchkula, Panchkula on the bank of the Ghaggar River in Shivalik foothills, is a deeply cherished place for Sikhs. It holds a rich history closely connected to Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru. Let’s explore its historical background, the miracles associated with it, its remarkable architecture, and its role as a pilgrimage destination and center of festivities.

Historical Background

In the early 18th century, Guru Gobind Singh was going through a tough time. The tenth guru halted here while traveling from Paonta Sahib to Anandpur Sahib after the VICTORY in the Battle of Bhangani in 1688. A man from the Lobana caste Nadhu Shah served SHRI GURU GOBIND SINGH JI with great dedication resulting in GURU SAHIB blessing him that this place would be called in his name.
